Dean’s Message

Four Decades of Shaping the Future of Communication

As we celebrate our School of Communication’s 40th anniversary, we reflect on the remarkable journey of our school, dedicated to shaping the future of communication. Over the past four decades, we have been steadfast in our commitment to creativity, collaboration, and credibility; driving excellence in news, film, media, and strategic communication. Our work has not only shaped industry standards but has also had a profound impact on society.

This milestone is a testament to the legacy built by those before us and the impressive accomplishments of our current community. From our growing national rankings in communication, advertising, public relations, journalism, and film to the global reach of our students, our school continues to lead with innovation and excellence.

As we reflect on our past, celebrate our present, and envision an even brighter future, we hope you’ll be part of Celebrating Our Communication School: Past, Present, and Future on April 8, 2025, as we commemorate this incredible milestone together.

Warm regards,

Karin Gwinn Wilkins

Dean, School of Communication
